Frequently Asked Questions

Questions

Can I take other classes offered at MSU?

No. Not as a part of College Ready. The courses in the program are available only to College Ready students and all College Ready students will be restricted to these courses.

Do I have a choice of residence hall?

No. All students participating in College Ready will be housed together.

Do I have to buy a meal plan?

No. However, a meal plan is not provided as a cost of the program. Buying a meal plan is strongly encouraged. In addition, new-construction residence halls have a small kitchen that students may cook in if they wish to do so.

When will I get my schedule?

The College Ready Coordinator will start registering paid applicants into courses in May. You will be advised for courses for College Ready on an individualized basis. Please make sure to keep up to date with your MSU and personal email.

When will the College Ready application process begin?

The College Ready application will open November 1, 2020. Please note that applying does not claim your spot in the program. To claim your spot in the program and have the ability to create a schedule, you must pay the $100 non-refundable deposit.

Will I be taking classes with upper class MSU students?

No. You will be taking classes with College Ready students who are all first-time freshman students like yourself.
